Hariyali Model To Be Implemented in Rolpa District

14 Phagun 2076. Hariyali Institute has signed an agreement jointly with Libang Municipality and District Federation of Commerce and Industry of Rolpa. The municipality and federation will find the project site with at least 100 ropanies of land for the implementation of Hariyali model project focusing of agriculture. The Institute will help the farmers in establishing a collaborative farm and provide technical and managerial support to run the farm.

Modern Agricultural Farm to be established in Bardia District

20 Phagun 2077. Hariyali institute and Lumbini Province, Planning Commission signed an agreement in connection with the establishment of a modern agriculture farm in Bardia district based in Hariyali model. Hariyali Institute will conduct a feasibility study and also prepare a project business plan in consultation with land owners and farmers of the proposed project site. The farm will initially have a pooled land of 100 bigha (67 hectares). In a Hariyali model project, farmers establish a collaborative company with their equity share, lease out their land to their own company and start working as the full-time staff of the farm. Equity participation is invited from other local investors too to meet the investment needs. Province and local government provide the farm with subsidies, technical services and other support.

Agreement Signed with Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality

7 Chaitra 2078. A team led by Gundendra Gharti, the chief of the Sunil Smriti rural municipality of Rolpa district, visited Hariyali pilot project site in Myagdi. Chief Administrative Officer, lead farmers and other staff members of the municipality were members of the team. After the observation of the project, the team signed an agreement with Hariyali Institute for replicating the model in the Sunil Smriti municipality. As per the agreement, the municipality office is to identify the site for the project, organize interaction program with land owners, farmers and potential investors and pay the land lease rent amount for the first three years. Hariyali Institute will provide all the technical support from land pooling to agricultural business establishment.  

Interaction Program Organized in Gandaki Province      

26 Chaitra 2078. Gandaki Province, Policy and Planning Commission organized an interaction program on Hariyali model in the presence of Honorable Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung. Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, former vice-chair of the National Planning Commission of Nepal highlighted main features and implementation modalities of the Hariyali model. During the interaction, Honorable Chief Minister Gurung opined that Hariyali model seems to be a promising model with a potential of transforming our agriculture system and hence should be implemented in each and every ward of the Gandaki Province. Member of the Province Policy and Planning Commission, secretaries of various province ministries, farmers and representatives of the federation of commerce and industries were present at the program.
