Hariyali institute and Lumbini Province, Planning Commission signed an agreement in connection with the establishment of a modern agriculture farm in Bardia district based in Hariyali model. Hariyali Institute will conduct a feasibility study and also prepare a project business plan in consultation with land owners and farmers of the proposed project site. The farm will initially have a pooled land of 100 bigha (67 hectares). In a Hariyali model project, farmers establish a collaborative company with their equity share, lease out their land to their own company and start working as the full-time staff of the farm. Equity participation is invited from other local investors too to meet the investment needs. Province and local government provide the farm with subsidies, technical services and other support.
